In just a few weeks I will become a published author. Several years ago, I began writing and have yet to finish those books. Nevertheless, when my website designer tagged me in a post about an opportunity to be a part of a global devotional, I knew God was saying now is the time to unleash the gift of book writing. He was reminding me that His promises are truly yes and amen and, in His timing, they will come to pass. You see, I had allowed fear and doubt to keep me from finishing the books. Also, there was not a financial investment involved, so I would convince myself that there was no rush to finish. In order to be a part of the global devotional, I had to make a financial investment. Keep in mind, this opportunity came right at the start of the pandemic and both of my businesses had pretty much come to a halt. Nevertheless, a month later (fear kept me from responding immediately) I chose to walk by faith and not by sight and submitted my name for consideration.
"For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith." | 1 John 5:4 NLT

The devotional is a conglomeration of 130 female authors from around the world. We are all sharing about a promise that God has manifested in our lives. I received my confirmation email that I would be one of the authors and I was very excited. Then I realized I had no idea what I was going to write about. The books that I had started did not meet the criteria, so I had to come up with something totally new. We were tasked to choose one of our favorite scriptures and use that as the foundation for our devotional. As I prayed about which scripture to use, I kept hearing the word faith. Since 2018, God has been ministering to me about the importance of walking by faith. Several opportunities have really caused me to focus on leveling up in the area of faith, and not allowing fear and doubt to hinder me from receiving God’s promises. Now that I knew my topic was to be on faith, I had to determine what event in my life would have the impact to help someone else level up in their faith. As I began writing, I found myself keeping things “on the surface”. I didn’t really delve deeply into why faith allowed me to see the promise of God in my life. It was at that moment, that I had to face my fear and activate my faith. By the fourth or fifth draft, I had effectively communicated the promise of victory through faith. So be encouraged and don’t allow fear, doubt, or unbelief keep the promises of God from being manifested in your life. Use your key of faith and unlock the door to every promise God has for you. Until next week….
Be blessed, but first comes obedience!
