It's Half Time

It’s January 1, 2020 and the year is starting off great! You’re excited about all the prophetic words for this year on vision, clarity and open doors. Like a wide receiver you’re running the ball down the field, no one in sight to tackle you and you’re ready to score. There’s a minute left in the first quarter, and right before you reach the endzone, a linebacker (the pandemic) comes out of nowhere, knocks you down and you lose the ball. The initial news of the pandemic, knocked you down and even set you back a little, but you were able to bounce back. You reviewed your goals and made adjustments. Although sales may have dropped some in your business, or maybe there was uncertainty on how your ministry would continue to provide a worship experience, you were still in the game. You were determined to walk by faith and not by sight. You’ve gone into the huddle to receive instructions from the quarterback, and you come out with a new strategy to get the ball down the field. This time it’s not a clear shot to the end zone, but you manage to keep the opponent of doubt and fear off of you for several yards, and then all the sudden you get hit. A black man is murdered by a white police officer and sends the entire country into an up roar. Now you’re not only dealing with the pandemic of a deadly virus, but also the exposure of systematic racism. There’s 8 minutes (8 days) left in the second quarter, you’re feeling overwhelmed, but you just don’t want to throw in the towel.

Does this sound like you? If so, I’m here to encourage you. Just like in football, at halftime there’s a show. This show is designed to keep you entertained and or distracted if your team is losing, until the game starts again. You’re at halftime in the game of 2020. You and your team are in the locker room. The fans are watching the halftime show, but you and your team are also watching a show. There’s a review of the plays identifying what went well and what didn’t go so well. The coach is there to answer questions and to provide new strategies to implement during the second half. You have a choice. You can either listen to the coach’s advice or continue running the same plays as you ran in the first half. God is your coach. In Jeremiah 33:3 he says to call on Him and he will answer and show you great and mighty things to come. Although the first half didn’t end the way you would like, God is saying come up higher in your way of thinking. Start looking at your life, business, ministry, etc. from my vantage point. Allow me to give you a new strategy. My plans for you have not changed. This is still the year of clarity, consistency, confidence and conquering. This is still the year where there will be a demonstrative outpouring of the spirit of God. I have not changed my mind about what I spoke to you at the beginning of this year. Stand firm and stand fast on that word. Continue to war for the prophecy. Walk by faith and not by sight. Continue to believe in me and you will do exploits (Daniel 11:32). There will be a manifestation of all I’ve spoken to you because my promises are yes and amen ( 2 Corinthians 1:20). All you need to do is be willing and obedient and you will eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19).

Many have written 2020 off as a loss, but God says there are still opportunities for you to win. Position yourself to receive the new strategies. Eight represents new beginnings and within these eight days remaining in June, you’ll receive new wisdom, revelation and understanding. As you begin to implement the new strategies, God will be with you to guide you through like a lighthouse. Now is not the time to give up. Don’t yield to procrastination, fear or doubt, but yield to the voice of God. Your breakthrough is closer than you realize. You will prevail! Until next week…

Be blessed, but first comes obedience!
